Art has worked in the industry for over 20 years as an actor, producer, filmmaker and editor.

He has appeared in a strong list of credits that include such films as “Crash”, “War of the Worlds”, ‘Strange Days”
and has worked with notable directors as Steven Speilberg, Paul Haggis, and Kathryn Bigelow.
He has guest starred in numerous
television shows such as “The West Wing”, “ER”, “Boston Legal”, “C.S.I”, “ Six Feet Under”.

His editorial and producing credits include indie films such as “My Sweet Killer”, “Hard Luck”, and “Distortion”.
He has worked in the marketing side of the industry and has produced numerous behind the scenes documentaries
such as the “Underworld” franchise for Sony Pictures, “The Education of Charlie Banks” for Anchor Bay
and “Californication” for Showtime Networks.

David Betances
director | producer | editor


Born and raised in Chicago, David began making films in high school with his father’s Hi-8 camera and his twin brother .
Both worked their way from a north-side Chicago drama club to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

David's production work has ranged from being a production assistant on GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC)
to a producer, associate producer, and production coordinator for such films
as DISTORTION (Rialto Films), RHYTHM & HONEY (Ironhog /Lionsgate), and the
behind-the-scenes DVD content for UNDERWORLD:EVOLUTION (Sony / Lakeshore).

In 2008, David Co-Produced the movie BUSTED starring Darius McCrary and David Faustino,
before he was approached to write and direct FAST LANE for Tristan Leostar Films.
The script was written in 16 days, prepped for 2 1/2 weeks and shot in 10 days on a shoe-string budget.
After editorial, music and sound design were completed, the film was delivered in 2009
and is distributed domestically and internationally
